Fix iPhone Hardware Related Problems
Sometimes, problems may arise in the hardware of the phone. When you troubleshoot or try to solve a problem by fixing the phone’s software and it does not work, then there is a chance that the problem is not in the software at all. Instead, damage to the hardware may be causing the problem.
iPhone got dunked in the water
Before the iPhone 7, iPhones were not water resistant. Even iPhone 7 users have to be careful when it comes to dropping their iPhone in water because there is a chance that they may suffer from problems too. Switch off your phone immediately and don’t switch it off till it is completely dry. Make sure that you do not connect it to the charger either. Wipe away the water and dry it from the outside. Remove the SIM card and put your phone into a bag of rice or buy a bag of silica gel sachets and put your phone in the bag.
Give the phone about 48 hours to dry out completely. Once it is dry you should then first connect it to the charger, and let it charge and then switch on the device.
If your phone worked then you should be able to use it as usual, but if it still doesn’t work then there is a chance that the water has damaged some parts of the phone which will have to be changed. For this, you will have to take your phone to the Apple Store.
Cracked screen or broken screen
A broken or a cracked screen is another problem that most smartphone users suffer from. There were certain instances where iPhone users found that their phone’s screen cracked when the phone suffered a fall. In situations like these, there is hardly much that you will be able to do. Take the phone to the Store. You may have to bear the cost of screen replacements.
All other hardware related problems must be solved by professionals at the Apple Store only. It is better to rely on Apple for replacement of any part of the phone.
