Printer Spooler Setup

When you send a file or document to print from a PC computer, the data is sent to the system’s printer spooler. The printer spooler loads the file data into the computer’s memory and then processes the print job you requested. However, sometimes you will find that your print command fails because the printer spooler was turned off by some other system component. In order to start printing again, you will need to turn on the printer spooler from the Control Panel options.

Step 1

Go into the Start Menu and click on the “Control Panel” icon.
Step 2

Double-click on the “Administrative Tools” icon in the pop-up window.
Step 3

Double-click on the “Services” shortcut icon, which will open a full list of all available computer services.

Step 4

Use the scroll bar on the right side of the window to find the “Print Spooler” options.
Step 5

Click on “Start the Service” to turn on the printer spooler and allow printing to begin again.
